How We Verify Prices
Where our menu prices come from, how we check them and how we label anything we could not confirm.
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Menu prices are only useful if you can trust them. This page explains exactly how USA Food Menu collects, checks and updates the prices on our restaurant menu pages, and how we label anything we could not confirm.
1. We start with official sources
Every price on a menu page comes from a source published by the restaurant itself: its official website, its official ordering app, or an official in-store or printed menu. We do not copy prices from other menu websites, social media posts or unofficial screenshots.
2. We record the source and the date
Each menu page shows where its prices came from and the date they were last verified. If a page has not been checked recently, the date makes that clear โ we only change the “last updated” date when the content has actually been reviewed.
3. We note the location we checked
Most chains let individual restaurants or franchisees set their own prices, so the same item can cost different amounts in different places. Where it matters, we note the type of location or area our prices reflect and remind readers that prices vary by location, delivery platform and time of day. Prices are shown before sales tax.
4. We label what we could not verify
- Verified: confirmed from an official source on the date shown.
- Estimate: an editorial estimate based on several verified locations, clearly labelled as such.
- Historical: a past price kept for reference, with its date.
- Limited-time or regional: items that are not available everywhere or all year are labelled.
We never present unverified prices as confirmed fact, and we do not publish image-only menus โ prices are always in readable, accessible tables.
5. We review and update regularly
Popular menu pages are reviewed regularly and whenever we learn about a menu or price change. When a page is updated, the new verification date is shown at the top of the page.
6. Nutrition and allergens
Calorie figures come from the restaurant’s published nutrition information, and each menu page links to the official nutrition guide where one is available. For allergies or dietary needs, always check the latest information directly with the restaurant.
7. Corrections
If you see a price that looks wrong or out of date, please contact us with the page address, the item and, if possible, where you saw the current price. We review every report and update the page when we can confirm the change.
Independence
We are not affiliated with any restaurant, and restaurants do not pay to appear on USA Food Menu or to influence what we write. See our editorial policy for more.
